Ge Yan

CS PhD student, University of Washington

I am a first-year CS PhD student at University of Washington, advised by Prof. Dieter Fox. Previously, I received my MS degree from UC San Diego, advised by Prof. Xiaolong Wang.

My research interest is building generally capable robots with scalable intelligence. Currently, I am focused on 3D policy learning and generative models for robotics.

Misc

I love various music genres, especially classic, rock, and R&B. Lately, I've been drawn to 90s music, especially Japanese songs from that time, e.g. OH NO, OH YES! by Akina Nakamori and First Love by Utada Hikaru. I enjoy the melodies of diverse instruments and am currently learning to play the piano in my spare time.

I also enjoy watching NBA games, with Los Angeles Lakers being my favorite team. I'm a huge fan of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, always finding inspiration in their spirit.
